Pilot Flying J Accused of Cheating Truckers

Last week Pilot Flying J, the nation's largest truck-stop operator, was accused of cheating customers on rebates associated with diesel fuel purchases.  The accusations are outlined in an affitdavit released by the FBI last Thursday.  The West Knoxville, Tennessee headquarters of the company were raided on Monday April 15th by the FBI and Internal Revenue Service after a lengthy investigation.

The affidavit claims that the company cheated trucking firms by paying them smaller rebates than were previously promised.  Trucking companies would send their trucks to refuel at Pilot Flying J locations, after they had arranged with the company to earn rebates on each fuel purchase.

There are 17 Pilot Flying J locations in California.
